If you still need to make adjustments, go ahead and try one more time. If it doesn’t quite work out after the third attempt, I usually scrap that copy and try a new one.
Write down the total time it took you, the number of attempts and today’s date inside or next to the shape so that you have a record for future refence.

You can do shape exercises with increasingly complex shapes as you become confident with the more basic shapes.
When you are creating more shape exercises to do in your own time, note that it is easier to copy straight lines, and harder to copy curved lines with changes of direction (e.g. S-curves).
When you feel confident and want to try something more difficult, create shape exercises from tracings of abstract shapes taken off photos of humans from magazines, prints or books.
